On February 17, 2017, Montgomery, Alabama Police Officer Carlos Taylor was injured in the line of duty while responding to an “officer in distress” call to assist a fellow officer. He suffered a traumatic brain injury to his brain stem. After many months at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, he is back home under the care of doctors in Montgomery and his Mother.
In 2020, we were proud to serve as a conduit for fundraising for the Taylor family to enable them to secure a wheelchair compatible van to use to transport Carlos to his doctors’ appointments. The community made generous donations to help secure the van and this would not have been possible so quickly without the very generous gifts from Stivers Ford and Superior Van & Mobility in Montgomery! We have created a Special Needs Trust to deposit and manage the funds raised that will help provide for Carlos’ care and needs for the van.
We remain committed to being a conduit for fundraising for the Taylor family. Donations may be made via this special, dedicated secure donation site. The funds raised through this special link will be transferred to the Carlos Taylor Special Needs Trust.
Alternatively, donations may be made by check to Alabama Wounded Blue, P.O. Box 698, Wetumpka, AL 36092.
Wounded Blue, Inc. d/b/a Alabama Wounded Blue is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt charitable foundation and donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.
